Lucknow Senior BJP leader and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh filed his nomination papers before the Returning Officer from Lucknow parliamentary constituency on Monday in the presence of UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Rajya Sabha member Sudhanshu Trivedi. .
According to the information, Rajnath Singh first filed his nomination papers from Lucknow seat in 2014 and emerged victorious. He maintained his victory from here in 2019 also. The Defense Minister is contesting from Lucknow for the third time. Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee also represented the prestigious Lucknow constituency.
When Singh came out from BJP headquarters to file nomination papers, many prominent leaders including Yogi Adityanath, Pushkar Singh Dhami, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak were with him. Voting will be held in the fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections in Lucknow on May 20.
